Festival Director, Dublin Fringe

Dublin Fringe Festival is home to bold ideas, brave performing arts and adventurous audiences. It is Ireland's largest multidisciplinary arts festival and a year round artist support organisation focused on fresh and innovative approaches to the arts from Irish and international makers. For artists, Fringe facilitates opportunities for experimentation, championing new ideas and voices that defy the mainstream. For audiences, Fringe is the place to discover the freshest cultural experiences. Dublin Fringe Festival celebrated their 25th edition in September 2019. Ruth McGowan took on the role of Festival Director at Dublin Fringe Festival in January 2018. A dramaturg, producer and director, she has supported the development of hundreds of artists and ideas in Dublin and New York since 2009. Ruth will share how Dublin Fringe Festival places creativity at the centre of their practice, how they discover and develop new talent and how the organisation creates a framework for artistic risk.
