Dr Claire O'Connell is a science writer based in Ireland. She has a PhD in cell biology from University College Dublin and a Masters in Science Communication from Dublin City University. She writes regularly for Silicon Republic and The Irish Times. In 2016 she was named Irish Science Writer of the Year and is Adjunct Professor at UCD Biomolecular and Biomedical Science.
